Rounding

Sometimes, rounding occurs when calculating fees. Here’s how Bitvavo handles rounding:

  • Fiat transactions are rounded to two decimal places.
  • Crypto transactions are rounded to eight decimal places.

This ensures fees always meet or exceed the specified percentage. For example:

Buying 0.0331 BTC at £4,951 per BTC with a 0.25% fee:

  • Total cost: £163.8781
  • Fee: £0.40969525
  • Rounded total: £164.29 (£0.00220475 rounding difference included).

Example of a trading fee

Suppose you sell £1,000 worth of Bitcoin with a trading fee of 0.25%:

  • £1,000 x 0.25% = £2.50 fee.
  • You will receive £997.50 after the fee is deducted.
