We're supporting the AERO contract swap
Aerodrome Finance (AERO) is moving to a new token contract. Bitvavo supports this contract swap and handles it for you, so you don't need to do anything. Your AERO is converted at a ratio of 1:1. AERO deposits and withdrawals are paused from 3 November 2026 at 08:00 CET until the swap is complete. You can keep trading AERO the whole time.
What's happening
Aerodrome Finance is moving AERO to a new contract. We carry out the swap for you and convert your AERO balance on Bitvavo to the new contract automatically, at a ratio of 1:1. That means 1 old AERO becomes 1 new AERO, so the number of AERO you hold stays the same.
Timeline
- 3 November 2026 at 08:00 CET: We pause AERO deposits and withdrawals. Please make sure any AERO deposit is fully processed well before this time.
- Contract swap: We then carry out the swap and convert your balance to the new contract.
- Reopening: Once the swap is complete, we reopen deposits and withdrawals, for the new AERO contract only. We'll tell you in a separate announcement.
What this means for you
- Trading: You can buy and sell AERO the whole time.
- Deposits and withdrawals: These are paused only while the swap is in progress.
- Your balance: We convert it 1:1 to the new contract for you, with nothing for you to do.
- After the swap: We only support deposits of AERO on the new contract.

Do I need to do anything?
No. We handle the technical side of the swap for you.
Will the number of AERO I hold change?
No. The swap is 1:1, so you keep the same amount of AERO.
Can I still trade AERO during the swap?
Yes. Trading in AERO stays available. Only deposits and withdrawals are paused.
What if I send AERO to Bitvavo after 3 November at 08:00 CET?
Please don't send AERO to Bitvavo while deposits are paused. We don't swap AERO that is deposited after this time. Wait for our announcement that deposits have reopened.
Can I still deposit AERO on the old contract after the swap?
No. Once the swap is complete, we only support AERO on the new contract. If you send AERO on the old contract, you may lose it. If you're not sure which contract your AERO is on, check with the wallet or platform you're sending it from.
When can I deposit and withdraw AERO again?
As soon as the swap is complete. We'll post a separate announcement when deposits and withdrawals reopen.
I hold AERO in an external wallet. What should I do?
The swap we carry out covers only AERO held on Bitvavo. For AERO in an external wallet, see the official Aerodrome announcement.
