Why can I trade certain cryptocurrencies only with price guarantee?

What is changing?

Certain markets on Bitvavo are now only available through the price guarantee order type. This means that you can only buy or sell these assets using a price guarantee order.

It is no longer possible to place market, limit, or stop limit orders for these assets. Additionally, these assets are no longer tradable in Pro Mode. However, you can still deposit and withdraw these assets while in Pro Mode.

Note: All existing open orders for these assets will be automatically canceled when this change takes effect.

Why are we making this change?

These markets may have lower activity and liquidity. Price guarantee provides protection and ensures stability, because smaller markets are more sensitive to price and spread fluctuations. By using price guarantee, you benefit from:

• A guaranteed price that’s valid for 5 seconds
• Protection against price volatility
• Guaranteed execution of your order

What can you still do?

• You can still deposit and withdraw these assets, including in Pro Mode in the app.
• Orders for these assets can still be placed in the Bitvavo app or website outside of Pro mode.

Which assets can only be traded with price guarantee?

To check whether an asset is available via Price Guarantee only, you can see if limit orders are available in the app or if the asset is available in Bitvavo Pro. If not, it is only available via Price Guarantee.
