What do the green and red dots on the price chart mean?
Summary
This article explains the green and red dots that appear on the price chart of each crypto asset. These dots help you see where you previously bought or sold a cryptocurrency on Bitvavo. You’ll learn what they mean and how they can help you track your past trades directly on the chart.
See your past trades directly on the price chart
On the price chart of each crypto asset in the Bitvavo app and website, you’ll now see small green and red dots. These dots show you where you bought or sold that crypto in the past. It’s a simple way to track your trading activity visually, without needing to check your full trade history.
- A green dot means you bought the asset at that price and time.
- A red dot means you sold the asset at that price and time.
This feature gives you more insight into your personal trading behavior and helps you better understand your entry and exit points for each asset.
Where can I find these dots?
You’ll see the dots when viewing a crypto asset’s price graph, for example Bitcoin or Ethereum. The dots are visible in both the mobile app and on the Bitvavo website.
App
- Open the Bitvavo app
- Tap on a crypto asset, like Bitcoin
- Scroll down to the price graph
- Look for small green and red dots on the graph
Website
- Go to www.bitvavo.com and log in
- Click on a crypto asset from your dashboard
- Scroll to the price chart
- Look for small green and red dots on the graph
Live: trades are grouped into 3-minute intervals
1D: trades are grouped into 1-hour intervals
7D: trades are grouped into 8-hour intervals
30D: trades are grouped by day
1Y: trades are grouped around the 1st and 15th of each month
All: trades are grouped at the beginning of each month
You can hover over a dot to see the number of trades included in that group and the actual trade prices/amounts. To view trades closer to their real execution time, use a shorter range such as the Live chart. Keep in mind that the line chart itself shows the mid-price for each time bucket, so it may still differ from the exact price at which your trade was executed.

At the moment, there is no option to disable this feature. The dots are shown automatically to give you better insight into your past trading activity.
Do the dots show all my orders?
The dots only reflect completed buy or sell orders. Open or canceled orders are not shown on the price chart.
