What is the minimum transaction amount and how can I remove or sell small crypto balances (dust)?

Summary: If you hold less than €5 of a crypto, you can sell your full balance in one go using the 'max' button. Balances of €0.01 or less, also known as 'dust', are too small to sell. You can remove them all at once in the app, or one crypto at a time on the website.

Selling balances below €5

If you hold less than €5 of a crypto, you can sell your full balance in a single order. This is possible in the app and on the website, provided you meet these conditions:

• You place a market order or a price guarantee order.
• You sell your full available balance of that crypto. Use the 'max' button when selling to do this.

Removing dust (balances of €0.01 or less)

If your balance is worth €0.01 or less, it is too small to sell. You can remove it from your account instead.

In the app (all crypto at once)

1. Go to Portfolio.
2. Scroll down and tap Balances of €0.01 or less below your assets. You will see an overview of all crypto with a balance of €0.01 or less.
3. Tap Remove balances ≤ €0.01.
4. Review the overview and tap Confirm.

The crypto is removed from your balance. You can find a record of the removal in your transaction history. Don't see this option? Update the Bitvavo app to the latest version.

On the website (per crypto)

1. Go to the crypto you want to remove the dust from.
2. Click Sell.
3. Select Remove balance.

Unable to sell or remove a balance?

In rare cases, a balance cannot be sold or removed, for example when it has many decimals. If this happens, please contact us. With your permission, we will remove the dust for you.
