Why haven't I received my euro withdrawal to my bank account yet?

Bitvavo processes your withdrawals immediately. However, it depends on the bank's payment system when your withdrawal is credited to your bank account. The following timeframes can be used as an indication:

  • Bank transfer within the Netherlands: one (1) business day (Mon-Fri).
  • International bank transfer: two (2) business days (Mon-Fri).
Banks are closed on the weekends
It is standard practice that banks do not process payments during weekends and holidays. Therefore, it takes longer to process euro withdrawals. No need to worry, all euro withdrawals you make during the weekend (or holidays) will be credited to your bank account as soon as the bank processes them.

You can find more information about this on the website of your bank: ING, Rabobank, or ABN-AMRO.

Instant-payments

If you have not received the withdrawal yet, it may not have been processed via the instant payments network.

When you make multiple withdrawals in a row, it is possible that a later withdrawal will arrive in your bank account earlier. This happens because banks process the later withdrawal in the instant payments network, but not the earlier withdrawal. There is a limit to the number of transactions per day that are processed immediately.

You can expect euro withdrawals within two business days after the transaction has been initiated.

Although almost all euro withdrawals are processed within 2 working days, this can take up to 5 working days in exceptional cases. Only after these 5 working days have passed can we submit a case to our bank.

Please contact us if you have not received the withdrawal after 5 working days. At that time, send us bank statements, which you can download in your internet banking environment, that show the funds have not yet been credited. Provide the statements from the moment you initiated the withdrawal until the day you send the email. You can filter for "Bitvavo" so that no personal information is shared.

The bank will use these bank statements to further investigate where the funds are located.
