Source of Funds for Individuals
A proof of source of funds clarifies how you have obtained your assets. The documentation must cover at least the total amount of your deposits. If digital currencies have been deposited, we require proof and an explanation of how and when these were obtained.
What are the limits at Bitvavo?
The standard limits are €25,000 per 24 hours. This amount is cumulative, meaning it applies to both euro withdrawals and crypto withdrawals.
When do I need to provide documentation?
When you exceed the standard limits, you will receive an email from us with instructions to explain the source of your funds.
Tom does not need to provide documentation if he withdraws his entire balance in 25 hours and in 2 withdrawals. In that case, he will not be asked to submit documentation. If he submits documentation, it will not be processed.
Martin can withdraw his entire balance within 73 hours and in 4 transactions within the standard limits. If Martin wants to be able to withdraw his entire balance more quickly, he can submit documentation via the online form. If he does not submit, it will still be requested. This will be processed by our compliance team, and he will receive a response via email.
Fleur can currently withdraw her entire balance at once. At this time, documentation will not be requested and, if submitted, will not be processed. If Fleur's balance does increase rapidly, she will need to follow guidelines from example 2 above.
Anne may transfer up to €1,000,000 per bank transfer to her Bitvavo account. Crypto deposits have no maximum limit. Our compliance team will only request and process documentation after the deposit has been received. Anne can make the deposit and keep the documentation on hand, so she can quickly provide it once her deposit is processed. Anne can trade with her assets immediately after her deposit; her assets will not be frozen by us. For additional questions or information, Anne can contact Support.
If you have provided the requested documentation, our compliance department will assess whether you qualify for adjusted withdrawal limits. Your new limits will be determined individually based on the submitted documents.
