How can I transfer funds using iDEAL/Wero? – Bitvavo Help Center

iDEAL (soon to be Wero) is a Dutch payment method that can be used to add funds to your Bitvavo account. This payment method is free of charge, and the amount paid will be added to your account almost immediately.

Good to know: iDEAL is becoming Wero. You may see the iDEAL/Wero logo in your banking app or on our platform. The payment process remains secure, free, and instant, just as you are used to.

If you would like to use iDEAL/Wero, you can do so by following the steps below. Select your device to see the instructions.

Instructions for App

Open the Bitvavo app and log in to your account.
Tap the blue plus icon next to your account balance.
Enter the desired amount.
If you have a different payment method selected, tap it and select iDEAL/Wero.
Choose your bank and tap Deposit (or "Preview" depending on your view).
Confirm the payment in your banking app.

Instructions for Website

Log in to your Bitvavo account.
Click Deposit in the dashboard.
Choose iDEAL/Wero as the payment method.
Choose your bank and enter the desired amount.
Click Continue to preview the transaction.
Confirm your deposit by clicking Confirm and deposit.

Note: iDEAL/Wero allows a maximum amount of €50,000 per transaction. This is a limit set by the Dutch banks. However, you can make multiple payments one after another.

Why is the name changing to Wero?

iDEAL is being replaced by Wero, a new European payment system. All Dutch banks are switching to this system to allow for easier payments across Europe. The transition is gradual, so you will see the iDEAL and Wero logos used together for some time. For you as a user, nothing changes regarding fees or speed.

Can I deposit funds using Revolut?

Yes, you can deposit funds to your Bitvavo account using Revolut. When depositing funds, choose the iDEAL/Wero option, then scroll down through the list of banks to find Revolut.
