What does the name change from Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM) mean for me?
This article explains the upcoming name change from Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM) on the Bitvavo platform. You will find the schedule for the temporary interruption and what this means for your account balance.
Telegram submitted a governance proposal to rename the native TON token from Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM). This proposal has been voted on and accepted. Bitvavo fully supports this rebranding and will implement the changes automatically.
Schedule for the name change
The transition will take place on Monday, June 15. Bitvavo will use the following schedule to process the updates securely:
- 12:00 CEST: Trading, deposits, and withdrawals of Toncoin (TON) are temporarily suspended.
- Between 12:00 and 14:00 CEST: The asset name and ticker are updated in our systems.
- Around 14:00 CEST: Trading resumes under the new name Gram (GRAM). Deposits and withdrawals will also be reopened around this time.
Required action
You do not need to take any action. Bitvavo handles the complete name change automatically. After completion, your balance will simply be reflected as Gram (GRAM) in your portfolio.

Why is my balance temporarily showing as zero?
