Lisk chain shutdown: what does this mean for my LSK?

The Lisk chain is scheduled to shut down on October 31, 2026, and transition fully to the Ethereum (ERC-20) network. This article provides information on how this change affects your LSK holdings on Bitvavo.

Following the shutdown date, the LSK token will continue to exist exclusively on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network. This is the network currently supported by Bitvavo, meaning the transition will not disrupt your regular trading activities on our platform.

Holding LSK on Bitvavo

If your LSK is already in your Bitvavo account, you do not need to take any action. Your LSK will remain safely in your account after October 31, 2026, and you can continue buying, selling, and holding LSK as usual.

External wallets

If you hold LSK on the Lisk chain in an external wallet, these tokens must be migrated to the Ethereum network before October 31, 2026. Bitvavo only accepts LSK deposits through the ERC-20 network. You can find more information about the transition and the official migration process on the Lisk website.

Warning: Always check that you have selected the right network before you confirm a transaction to avoid losing your assets.
