How can I download my tax report?

Summary

This article explains how to generate a tax report using our third-party partners, Blockpit, CoinTracking, and TaxDown, or how to download your transaction history and balance statement directly from your account.

While Bitvavo does not generate ready-made tax reports directly, we provide two simple ways for you to get the information you need for your tax filings.

You can either use a trusted third-party tax tool to generate an automated report, or you can download your transaction history to do it yourself.

Option 1: Generate an automated tax report (Recommended)

Connect your Bitvavo account and generate your tax report in minutes.
Sign up, connect your "API key", and your transactions sync automatically.

How to connect your account

You can connect your account to these services securely. For step-by-step instructions on how to set this up and claim your discount, please refer to the dedicated integration guides:

Warning: Bitvavo does not provide tax advice. Always consult a qualified tax professional to ensure your filings are accurate. Third-party tax tools are independent services, and Bitvavo is not responsible for the accuracy of their calculations.

Option 2: Download your manual transaction history

If you prefer to calculate your taxes yourself or share the data directly with your accountant, you can download your full "transaction history" or your annual "balance statement".

Please note: Downloading these documents is currently only possible via the web version of Bitvavo, not the mobile app.

How to download your files

  1. Log in to your Bitvavo account on a desktop or mobile browser.
  2. Navigate to your Transaction history.
  3. Click the Export button in the top-right corner.

A menu will appear where you can select the specific data you need:

  • Balance statement: A PDF document showing your portfolio value. It reflects the value at the start and end of the selected year.
  • Transaction history: A CSV file containing a list of all your trades, deposits, and withdrawals. You can choose the current year, previous years, or your full history.

FAQ

Is my transaction history permanently stored?

Yes, your "transaction history" is stored and accessible as long as you have access to your Bitvavo account. If you decide to close your account, you will lose access to these documents. We strongly recommend downloading your history and balance statements before closing your account.

I cannot open the CSV file, what should I do?

CSV files are best viewed in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets. If the data looks disorganized, ensure you use the "Import from Text/CSV" feature in your software and select "Comma" or "Semicolon" as the delimiter.
