How can I see my profit, loss, or average buy price on Bitvavo?

Summary
It is currently not possible to track the profit or loss of specific purchases on Bitvavo. However, you can view the percentage increase or decrease in the total value of your portfolio over selected time periods. This article explains where to find this information and how to estimate your average buy price manually.

Viewing portfolio performance

You can check the percentage change in your portfolio value over time using:

  • The dashboard on the Bitvavo website
  • The app, where different timeframes are available (e.g., 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days)

These calculations include deposits and withdrawals, meaning that added or withdrawn funds can impact the displayed percentage.

Calculating your average buy price

Since Bitvavo does not currently display the average buy price, you can estimate it yourself using this formula:

Average buy price = (Total cost of all purchases) ÷ (Total amount of crypto purchased)

Example:

  • You buy 0.5 BTC for €15,000
  • Later, you buy another 0.5 BTC for €20,000
  • Your total cost is €35,000, and your total amount is 1 BTC
  • Your average buy price = €35,000 ÷ 1 BTC = €35,000 per BTC

This helps you compare the market price to your estimated cost.

Will Bitvavo introduce an average buy price feature?

At this time, the feature is not available. However, we are always looking for ways to improve the platform. If this is something you'd like to see, please let us know through our feedback channels.
