How to manage your notification settings

Managing your notification settings allows you to choose exactly which updates you receive from us and how you receive them. You can opt for push notifications, emails, both, or neither. This guide explains how to update your preferences, what each category means, and how to resolve common issues.

Where can I manage my notification settings?

Use the steps below to open your notification settings.

App

  1. Open the Bitvavo app.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Notifications.

Website

  1. Log in to your Bitvavo account on bitvavo.com.
  2. Open your profile in the top-right corner.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Notifications.

In this overview, you can see all available notification categories. For most categories, you can manage push notifications and email notifications separately.

What notification categories can I manage?

Below you can find an explanation of each notification category.

  • Product update notifications and asset update notifications (push and/or email).
  • Watchlist alerts and price alerts (push).
  • Newsletters (email) and promotions (email and/or push).
  • Surveys and interviews (email and/or push).
  • Account activity, orders, staking & lending and security update notifications (email and/or push).
Note: You may still receive important security updates about your account even if other notifications are turned off.

What is the difference between push notifications and email notifications?

  • Push notifications are sent to your mobile device through the Bitvavo app.
  • Email notifications are sent to the email address linked to your Bitvavo account.

For most categories, you can choose to receive:

  • Push notifications only
  • Email notifications only
  • Both push and email notifications
  • Neither

Why am I not receiving push notifications?

If you do not receive push notifications, alerts for the Bitvavo app may be turned off in your device settings.

On iPhone

Go to your device Settings, tap Notifications, select Bitvavo, and enable notifications.

On Android

Go to your device Settings, open your app settings, select Bitvavo, tap Notifications, and enable notifications.

After that, go back to the Bitvavo app and make sure the relevant push notification categories are enabled there as well.

Tip: To receive push notifications, you need to enable them both on your device and in your Bitvavo notification settings.

Why can't I turn off account activity emails?

Account activity emails contain important information about activity on your account, such as deposits, withdrawals, trades, and order confirmations. These emails are mandatory and cannot be disabled.

Why do I still receive market alerts after turning them off?

You may still receive alerts for assets in your Watchlist. Watchlist notifications depend on the assets you added there. Check your Watchlist and remove any assets you no longer want to follow, or disable the Watchlist notification category entirely.

Why do my notification settings look different?

We update the notification settings page from time to time to make it clearer and give you more control. Existing preferences are carried over where possible. New categories may be enabled by default, depending on the update.

How can I stop marketing emails?

You can stop marketing emails by turning off email notifications for categories such as Newsletters and Promotions in your notification settings.

What can I do if my notification settings do not save?

First, close and reopen the app or refresh the webpage. Then check whether your internet connection is stable and try again. If the issue persists, please contact our support team.
