To enhance security and protect our users, Bitvavo implements a dynamic cooldown period before allowing you to withdraw digital currencies to an external wallet. This cooldown period helps us, along with relevant authorities, to verify that your account activity is legitimate and to prevent any potentially fraudulent transactions.
How does the cooldown period work?
-
When it applies: The cooldown period is only activated when you create a new account and deposit funds into it.
-
Duration: The standard cooldown period lasts for 24 hours. However, this can be extended up to 72 hours if deposits are considered higher risk.
-
Restrictions: During the cooldown period, you won’t be able to withdraw the digital currencies you’ve purchased. Once the cooldown period ends, you won’t encounter this delay again for future transactions.
Please note: The cooldown period is a security measure, and it cannot be removed or bypassed.
