Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I see the message (Temporarily) Blocked?
You may have a temporary block for withdrawals of crypto. This is automatically placed for 24 hours for security reasons when you have performed one of the actions below:
- Password reset
- 2FA reset
- Phone number change
- Email change
You can check in your own logs whether you have performed these actions. Do you not recognize these actions? Then contact us directly at support@bitvavo.com.
How long can it take for my withdrawal to arrive in my external wallet?
Your crypto should arrive at the designated address within two hours. The timing depends mainly on how quickly your transaction is confirmed by the network, which differs for every crypto and may change from time to time. If your crypto hasn't arrived within two hours, please consult our article on possible reasons for delayed crypto transfers.
I have transferred crypto to the wrong address. How do I get it back?
Given the irreversible character of the blockchain, it is not possible to cancel a transaction after it has been executed. Therefore it is key to be extremely accurate when you transfer crypto. It is recommended to always ensure that the address where you are planning to transfer your crypto is exactly the same address as that of the receiver and to only then confirm the order. Please always copy and paste the wallet address instead of reproducing it to avoid potential typing errors.
Potential solution
If your crypto has already been transferred to an incorrect wallet address, the only way to get it back is to contact the receiving party and ask them to return your crypto. If you are unfamiliar with the owner of the wallet address, there is nothing you can do to get your crypto back.
What are the withdrawal fees at Bitvavo?
Sending crypto via the blockchain network costs a fee paid to miners that is unrelated to Bitvavo and its operations. An indicative overview of the costs for transferring crypto to a different wallet address can be found here.
Which blockchain networks are used for withdrawals?
The same blockchain networks are used for deposits and withdrawals. This article shows the network per crypto. Note that only one network is supported per crypto at the moment.
